macOS utility

Exeunt

Close the window. Quit the app.

A tiny menu bar app for Mac that quits an app when you close its last window. No idle apps, no wasted memory, no new habit to learn.

On a Mac, closing an app's last window doesn't quit it. The app stays in the Dock, holding memory, until you remember ⌘Q. Exeunt fixes that. Close the last window and the app quits, the way you already expected it to work.

It never force-quits. Unsaved work still raises the app's own save dialog, and your never-quit list keeps Mail, Messages or Spotify running. Try it in dry-run mode first: it watches and records, but quits nothing until you switch it on.

Exeunt is about 1 MB, event-driven and uses 0% CPU when idle. There is no account and no telemetry. It is signed with a Developer ID, notarised by Apple, and runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 13 or later.

Free for 14 days with everything working, then a one-time $5. Free updates within 1.x.
